# Scheduled Rules

Schedules Rules are similar to Rules in that they have a condition and actions that can be triggered. However, unlike normal rules, scheduled rules are also only executed after a specified event has happened and / or some time has passed. 

Scheduled rules can e.g. be used to:

* Send a reminder after three days of inactivity
* Create a "Check Passport" lifecycle case exactly one year after a person has been created
* Perform a worldcheck every day for every case
