Relationship Information

Definition

A relationship is an information type whose value points at other instances instead of holding a value of its own. A Single Instance Relationship points at one instance, a Multiple Instance Relationship at several.

A relationship can carry a RuLa condition that decides which instances are offered. The condition is matched against the instances of the case, so a relationship points at instances the case already contains. An empty condition offers every instance in the case.

A relationship can also be allowed to point at an instance outside the case, an external instance. See Linking Instances from Outside a Case.
