Definition

An instance tree page is a page that lists the instances of one ontology and, for the instance a user picks, opens a second screen showing everything connected to it: its own information, the instances related to it through roles and relationships, the cases it takes part in, and the calls, meetings and emails logged against it.

The list behaves like an Instances page and is configured the same way. What an instance tree page adds is the detail view behind each row, built from branches that say how to walk from an instance to the records around it. Example

A bank replaces its 'Clients' Instances page with an instance tree page on the ontology Person. It defines a branch to the people who hold a power of attorney for the client, one to the accounts the client holds, and one to the addresses stored on the client.

The detail view shows the client's own information and a button that runs the 'Update address' manual instance action, one list of cards per branch, the client's cases, and a log of the calls and meetings colleagues had with them. A user opens the client from the list and sees, on one screen, who acts for them, which accounts they hold, where they live, which cases are running, and the call a colleague logged yesterday.
