SMS

Atfinity sends SMS through one of three gateways: Twilio, Swisscom or SAP SMS 365. It uses them for the six-character code of two-factor sign-in, made of digits and capital letters. The code goes to the phone number on the user's profile when your tenant requires two-factor authentication by SMS.

Set the gateway up under Integrations in Services, on the SMS tab. What the URL and the token hold depends on the gateway:

  • Twilio: the URL is the Messages endpoint of your account, https://api.twilio.com/2010-04-01/Accounts/<Account SID>/Messages.json, from which Atfinity reads the account SID. The token is the auth token of that account, and the sender is a Twilio number or an alphanumeric sender ID
  • Swisscom and SAP SMS 365: the URL is the send endpoint of the gateway, and the token is sent as HTTP Basic credentials, so enter username:password encoded in Base64. These gateways ignore the sender

Whether the code is sent depends on the two-factor settings, not on "Enable SMS service", which only shows the gateway fields.

A user whose code cannot be sent cannot sign in, so send a test SMS before you require it. The test shows the settings Atfinity used and, when sending fails, the error the gateway returned.
