Certifaction¶
Certifaction is a Swiss electronic signature provider, and the provider behind Atfinity's eSignatures. A document, a booklet, a proof or a file information that you send for signature from a case is signed through it.
Why Certifaction¶
Examples of what Certifaction offers a bank:
- Signatures under Swiss law (ZertES) or EU law (eIDAS), chosen once for the integration
- All three legal weights: simple (SES), advanced (AES) and qualified (QES), set per process
- End-to-end encryption of the documents being signed
- An identity check before a qualified signature, which you can require for every new request rather than once per signer, and an AML compliance check for qualified signers
- The ID document a qualified signer identified with, which Atfinity can download next to the signed file
- A digital twin of a printed document, so a paper copy can be verified against the signed original
How a signature runs¶
- A user sends a signature request from the case, or a rule sends one with the Create Signature Request action. Atfinity prepares the documents as PDF files and creates the request in Certifaction for each signatory.
- The signatory opens the signing link, identifies themselves where the legal weight asks for it, and signs. While the request is open you can change it or cancel it.
- Certifaction tells Atfinity when the documents are signed or declined. Atfinity downloads the signed file and attaches it to the case.
Configuring eSignatures describes how to choose the signatories and send the request.
