Definition
Documents are the central part of every process in atfinity. This is where all the necessary information is collected, brought together in fields and sections.
By providing the condition for a document, you tell atfinity under what conditions the document should be included in a case.
By default, if the condition(s) is (are) met, all fields of the document will be included, meaning they need to be filled out.
However, you can set the configuration in such a way that only a certain number of fields on a document need to be filled out if an additional condition is met. This is done by defining sections on a document. More on that can be found under Document Section.

Documents come in two types:
PDF Document: Upload an existing form onto the application, then tell atfinity what information is collected in which fields. It is possible to add fields and sections as well. A PDF document can be as complicated as you need it to be.
Smart Document: atfinity will automatically create a PDF document, based on the selected template, together with fields and sections you need to be on there.

Options
While adding a document to atfinity, you have the following options:

Name
Your document's name.
Display Name
The document's name in English.
Booklet and Signing Type
Indicate whether this document should be included in the booklet, and whether it should be signed. Select 'Not in the booklet' if the document is for internal use only.
Remove PDF Fields
Yes: PDF documents can contain fields that users can fill out using a PDF Viewer. These fields can collide with fields you define in atfinity. By default, such fields are removed.
No: all fields from the PDF will remain on the document, including those filled out with a PDF viewer.
Before ToC
Yes: if the document is, for example, a cover page which you want to go before the booklet's Table of Contents (ToC).
No: the document will be placed after the ToC.
Description
Provide a description of the document in English.
Condition
Using RuLa, write the condition under which this document should be included in the case. See here how to write a document rule.
Type
Select between Smart Document or Uploading an Existing PDF.
Add Signature
Located on the right side of the configuration screen of a document, select which ontology should sign the document. A signature field will be added.
Fields
See an overview of all the information fields that have a place on this document, plus the information and the ontology they are linked to.
Click 'Add Field' on the right half of the screen to configure a new field for the document. More on this in Document Field.
Sections
Here, all the sections of the document are listed and new ones can be added.
Sections help you to structure fields and allow you to define rules that decide when those fields should be included. For more information, see Document Section.

Interactions
You can add as many documents to atfinity as needed. However, in order for the application to actually use a document, you have to add it to a process.
Documents interact with these other key concepts:
​Document section: dividing a document into sections makes the information on it easier to navigate.
​Document field: the actual 'lines' or 'boxes' where the data is printed on a document.
​Document template: the bare lay-out (logos, margins, etcetera) you want smart document to adhere to, once you print it out.

Option	Description
